“…the word of God is not bound.”
The Apostle Paul was in prison and suffering as though he were a criminal, even to the point of being chained. But there, in prison, he comes up with this wonderful statement:
**“The word of God is not bound.”**
Paul could be confined.
His movements could be restricted.
His body could be chained.
But the message he preached could not be chained.
The Roman authorities could imprison the messenger, but they could not imprison God’s truth.
For 2,000 years, people have opposed the Bible, tried to suppress it and sought to prevent people from reading it. Yet it remains freely available in much of the world and continues to change lives.
And where the Bible is still restricted, believers continue to risk imprisonment, hard labour and even death simply for possessing or sharing God’s Word.
**The Word of God is not bound.**
Chains can bind the preacher. Governments can restrict the Bible. Men can burn the book. But God’s Word cannot be imprisoned.
